PEAK Week for Sydney

I forget exactly what it stands for but in short, Sydney takes a trip for about 5 days with some of her classmates. No parents. Only a couple of teachers as chaperons. Now get this, she's going to visit an orphanage in Jiuzhaigou National Park.  That's near Chengdu in the Sichuan Province.  Click here, Sydney's PEAK trip, to see where exactly this place is. Fly to Chengdu, change planes and fly to Jiuzhaigou then ride a bus for a couple of hours before getting to their final destination.

The airport in this town is 11,300 feet.  Other mountains in the range are over 19,500 feet (6,000 meters)!  Not actually in Tibet but they will definitely see Tibetan people.  They will be visiting an orphanage for Tibetan handicapped children (hosted by Go2Serve Foundation) as well as helping one of the local villages with an ongoing conservation project while learning more about sustainable tourism. They even get to visit Panda's at the Panda research center in Chengdu. This will certainly be one of the highlights of her 7th grade year.

Oh, and I'm not allowed to go. I'm so jealous!
