Before
After
Hallelujah! As you may have guessed, we upgraded to a decent sized TV for our living room. We went from the 37" Vizio to a 55" LG. Cool stuff. (just ignore the rest of the crap around the room. I'm working on getting that cleaned up.)
Stephanie and Bob are friends of ours that are Bears fans. Thought it would be cool to invite them over to watch the Panthers Bears game that we recorded from the Slingbox at Kim and Stu's house. Of course, we couldn't have a football party on a puny 37" TV. The new one was delivered on Monday for the game which we had planned to watch Monday night.
12:45 afternoon on game day, thought I would check the Slingbox connection to make sure we didn't have any problems. Well, glad I did. Power outage in Kernersville kicked the Slingbox off line. At almost 1am NC time, with my sis in law on mega pain meds, I thought it best not to call her to fix the problem. Instead, I waited until about 6:30 am. I'm sure she was elated to hear me jingling her chain that early on a Monday. But, as I knew she would be, she was incredibly gracious and was able to fix the technical difficulties we were having.
Just in time for us to watch the embarrassment of a football team that we call the 2010 Panthers. Watching Peppers beat the crap out of a Carolina QB was kind of surreal.
Here's Julie and I leaving for the Foreign Correspondents Club annual Gala. The club holds this event every year to benefit local orphanages. If I was to ever adopt a child, it would be from one of these orphanages. A grand time was had by all. Glenlivet and Patron were my two favorite sponsors.
Here's a couple shots of some of the kids.
BTW, custom made tux that fits like a dream, US$370. SAWEET!
Julie has been super busy but at least she's been here. We're glad for that. We've been able to finalize some paint colors and get an idea of some of light fixtures to replace the bare bulbs that we've been living with since we got here.
Syd leaves this Friday for Chengdu, Alex and I go to Guam next Wednesday. (He's dominating the local high school circuit). Emely has left for Macau to fulfill her Visa requirements. So much to share about that experience.
Should be a busy couple of weeks so I'll have more to post soon.

Formatting for a Google Blog sucks the big one. Sorry, just had to get that out there.
