Welcome to the Ott journal of life as I see it in our new home, Hong Kong. From time to time I'll be posting my observations of Hong Kong as well as chronicling the activities of the family, whether it pertains to work, school or just life in general. I hope you enjoy reading about our experiences. We hope to enjoy it too.

Each year, Hong Kong hosts one of the stops on the Rugby Sevens World Series tour. This event is two and a half days of non stop rugby action in addition to huge part of the spring party season. Needless to say, epic quantities of beer are consumed. Gil Hunter, we missed you!
Sevens Rugby is now going to be a part of the Summer Olympics when they roll around in 2012 and after watching these guys play this weekend, I'll certainly be tuning in to watch.
Each team consists of 7 players per side. Teams from all over the world attend. Canada, England, South Africa, Japan, Russia, etc. etc. The tournament starts Friday afternoon and runs through Sunday evening. Games are about 20 minutes long and run solid with about a 10 minute interval in between. Fast paced and normally high scoring. New Zealand won and the US finished a pretty miserable 5th or 6th from the bottom.
Tickets are tough to come by since the stadium only seats about 40,000 and people plan a year ahead for this weekend. Kind of strange that there is this big stadium right in the middle of a neighborhood.
